Punycode to Unicode
Our Punycode to Unicode converter takes a list of Punycode domain names as input and quickly transforms them into Unicode format. To perform conversion, enter the Punycode domain names that you wish to convert and then click “Convert.” If you receive an error, please make sure the names do not contain extra characters or URL parts (“https://”, “/”, “?”, etc.) and are entered on separate lines.
What is Punycode?
Punycode or ASCII Compatible Encoding (ACE) is a standardized encoding method designed to represent internationalized domain names (IDNs) with non-Latin scripts, accented characters, etc. using only ASCII characters. A Punycode form of IDN is also referred to as A-label, whereas a Unicode form is known as U-label.
A Punycode formatted domain name begins with the four-character prefix “xn--” followed by a sequence of ASCII characters that represent the original IDN after encoding all non-ASCII characters. For example: the domain name “montréal.ca” in Punycode is “xn--montral-fya.ca”.
