This WHOIS lookup tool supports most of the top level domains (TLDs) listed in the IANA’s Root Zone Database, including the popular generic domains such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .xyz, .biz, country-code TLDs such as .au, .ca, .uk, and internationalized top level domains.

About WHOIS

The WHOIS is a publicly accessible distributed directory or database containing information about domain ownership and registration status. When a person or organization registers a domain name, they are required to provide accurate and up-to-date contact information. This information is then stored in a WHOIS database, which is typically maintained by the domain registrar.

The data in the WHOIS database can be queried using the WHOIS network protocol over TCP port 43 or through a web-based portal, if such services are implemented by the registrar for the particular top-level domain (TLD).

The WHOIS service can provide various details about a domain name, including:

• Registrar Information: The entity with whom the domain is registered is known as the registrar. WHOIS can provide details about the registrar, including their contact information.
• Registrant Information: This includes details about the individual or organization that registered the domain, such as their name, address, email, and phone number.
• Administrative Contact: Information about the person or entity responsible for the administrative aspects of the domain registration.
• Technical Contact: Details about the person or entity responsible for the technical aspects of the domain, such as the domain's DNS settings.
• Domain Status: The current status of the domain, such as whether it is active, inactive, or in the process of being transferred.
• Name Servers: Information about the name servers associated with the domain, which are responsible for translating domain names into IP addresses.
• Creation and Expiration Dates: The date the domain was created and when it is set to expire.
• Domain Updated Date: The date when the domain's information was last updated.

The availability of information in WHOIS records may vary from one domain registrar to another. Some registrars offer privacy protection services that mask certain details in the WHOIS output to protect the registrant's privacy. Additionally, some generic top-level domains (gTLDs) may have different policies regarding the information displayed in WHOIS records.
